The 2ndChinese Private Enterprise Culture Forum jointly sponsored by China Corporate Culture Institute and Shanghai Enterprise Culture Promotion Association and undertaken by CEFC China was held grandly in Shanghai from May 25 to 27. The theme of this forum is “to carry forward the excellent traditional cultures and innovate the corporate management and operation”. More than 460 representatives, including the department leaders, experts and entrepreneurs nationwide attended the meeting. Xu Jialu, vice chairman of the 9thand the 10thNational People's Congress and director of China Academy of Culture Limited, Hu Ping, previous director of Special Zone Office of the State Council, previous minister of Ministry of Commerce and president of China Corporate Culture Institute, Sun Anmin, executive vice president of the 9thand the 10thAll-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and previous deputy mayor of Beijing attended the meeting and made important speeches. Pan Min, deputy minister of Shanghai Municipal Propaganda Department and director of Municipal Civilization Office, Chen Qiutu, president of CEFC China, Meng Fanchi, permanent vice president and secretary general of China Corporate Culture Institute made speeches. Jiang Chunyu, secretary of the party committee of CEFC China made the typical experience report on the opening ceremony. Liu Wei, chairman of board of directors of Tastod Construction Group was invited to attend it as the guest of opinion sharing.

Xu Jialu highly evaluated the construction of special culture of CEFC China in his speech. Xu Jialu held that CEFC China has conducted effective innovation in terms of the service of the corporate development strategy, improvement of mechanisms and systems, scientific technology and management and operation under the guidance of its core values and ideas of “arising with strength and achieving with goodness.” Hu Ping summarized the development direction of the traditional culture in the growth of private enterprises with the four keywords of “inheritance, integration, innovation and surpassing”. He held that this is exactly the opportunity and challenge that the private enterprises face at present.

Pan Min stated in his speech that in recent years, Shanghai has extracted essences and absorbed energy from the urban historical and cultural treasure, deeply explored the times value of red culture and modern industrial and commercial culture, closely connected the excellent traditional cultures with spirits of contract, craftsmanship, rule awareness and law-based awareness, created the enterprise cultural atmosphere that “only those who do not forget how they start will make progress, only those who are confident and tolerant will win and only the reformers and innovators will be strong” to promote enterprises to become the main battlefield and fresh troops of innovative development.

The contents of the forum are abundant and colorful. Guests from Huawei Group, Spring Airlines, Shanghai Fosun, Hehui Investment Group, Chint Group and Meituan introduced the characteristics of their enterprise cultures and management experience from different perspectives. Eight guests from different fields conducted an amazing debate about whether enterprise culture is the “founder” culture.

In the section of opinion sharing, Liu Wei, chairman of board of directors of Tastod Construction Group, Xun Jinqing, president of Shandong Huawei Baoan Group Co., Ltd, Liu Pengkai, president of Jiangsu Heisonglin Adhesive Factory Co., Ltd, and He Liu, deputy general manager of Sichuan Bontop Investment Co., Ltd. carried out dialogues with the experts. They combined with the successful management practice of their own enterprises and analyzed the importance of inheritance of the domestic excellent traditional cultures and cultivation of the entrepreneurship in the corporate transformation and upgrade under the new normal of Chinese economy.

Chairman Liu Wei said in his sharing:“Tastod culture has gone through three development stages of military culture, responsibility culture and craftsman culture. Its main core is embodied in three aspects-cooperation, faith and courage. Cooperation means that the company creates the partner enterprise along with employees and realizes cooperation and win-win with clients. Tastod belongs to all its employees. It is a community with a common cause, value and future where a group of people with joint ambitions work together for the same dream. Faith means integrity, belief and conviction. People who are greedy for small gains are always not honest, since honesty always pays a high price. When I started up my business, I paid a great price for honesty, which, however, has brought various opportunities of long-term development and the present days of Tastod. We advocate honesty towards clients and employees. Employees also should be honest to the company. Only when we have mutual trust can we recognize our ideas and hold the firm conviction to our cause and development objectives.

I think the enterprise culture has three main pivots - idea, strategy and value. Among them, value is the most important, which can be said as the belief of the enterprise. Two years ago, I took advantage of the opportunity of inspecting the projects under construction and started my journey from Yantai in Shandong, passed Yan'an, Huangdi Mausoleum to Tibetan Grand Bassin, crossed the 500-km no man's land in Tibet-Xinjiang Road and arrived in Kashgar in Xinjiang. I visited the mosque, knew about Islam and returned to the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and Mount Wutai. I drove for 18000 li and experienced a culture exploration trip that traced the sources.I have felt the historical huge changes brought by culture and the strength of religious beliefs. This trip is a challenge and test of being-towards-death for me. This experience makes me understand: A enterprise must set up its own religion. Strong courage is acquired in running a enterprise. We must exert the tough strength with the tough ambition, be loyal to our own beliefs with the mentality of pilgrims and hold the same belief to form the joint power. I agree that enterprise culture is the “founder” culture, which means that the leaders should transform themselves first. The management of idea, the formulation of the development strategy and the building of the core values of enterprises derive from the thought height of top leaders. The bosses must learn and improve on their own, act as models and build up the direction and confidence for employees. The bosses must let their employees understand their intentions, keep up with them and maintain the same corporate values so that we can turn from cultural consciousness to cultural confidence and create the unique corporate brands.

In addition, I think the enterprise culture mainly solves two issues: corporate longevity and money sharing. The ultimate goal of the construction of enterprise culture is to make the enterprises brands. Higher profits and longer corporate longevity can be created only through brands. Money sharing is actually a way of value sharing. Enable the employees to share the development fruits of the enterprise and obtain the reasonable returns, including salary, bonus and welfare, and stock right incentive. Courage means that the brave always wins. This is the spirit of “Drawing Sword” of Tastod during the period of military culture and also the manner of the brave in the current corporate transformation. Be brave to explore and innovate. At present, Tastod has bravely entered and decided to set up the latest building mode, create the eco-smart architecture and realize the industrialization of prefabricated residence in Dalian. Therefore, the culture of Tastod not only inherits one specifice traditional culture, but also integrates many cultures. It combines the culture of Legalism represented by Shang Yang. For example, it strictly implements the systems. It also has the “benevolence” thought of Confucianism, such as being “people-oriented” and “love-based”. And the principle “do what ought to do, don't do what should not do” advocated by Taoism means the “moderation” that I often mention. These classical and traditional cultures have been integrated into Tastod culture and inherited and carried forward in the enterprise. I firmly believe that the advanced enterprise cultures will certainly lead the enterprises to a promising future! ”

At the end of the conference, Professor Meng Fanchi made the concluding speech titled “Inheritance and Advocacy of Traditional Cultures in the Private Enterprises”. He said that their purposes of determining the theme of “carrying forward the excellent traditional cultures and innovating the management and operation of enterprises” include two aspects. First of all, to implement theOpinions of Carrying out the Inheritance and Development Project of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culturesissued by General Office of the CPC Central Committee and General Office of the State Council in this January. Secondly, to discuss how to apply the traditional cultures to the daily management and operation and carry forward traditional cultures in the modern management.Through discussion for one day and a half, I have four feelings in being a good person:first of all, in order to carry forward the traditional culture, we should do good works. Entrepreneurs and employees have the responsibility of carrying forward the traditional morals in China and doing the best. Secondly, be responsible. Every man alive has a duty to his country. Be the first to worry about the troubles across the land, the last to enjoy universal happiness. We have inherited the sense of national mission since the ancient times. Thirdly, be active and up-and-coming. The ancient people said that “As Heaven's movement is ever vigorous, so must a gentleman ceaselessly strive along”. The optimism and progressiveness are worth being carried forward by entrepreneurs. Fourthly, be moderate.Several points can be learned from in terms of running an enterprise:firstly, keep the Tao in mind and regard the whole world as one community. Secondly, be all-inclusive and supplementary. Thirdly, be people-oriented and benevolent. Fourthly, gain profits with righteousness and place righteousness before profit. Fifthly, the tao way follows nature, and man is an integral part of nature. Sixthly, develop in an innovative manner and keep making innovations. Seventhly, keep harmonious in diversity and pursue individuality.

On the award-giving conference, Tastod Construction Group won the honor of “Top 30 Model Units in the Cultural Construction of Chinese Private Enterprises”.
